Your dog might be trying to tell you something. Now our Rottweiler Annie Apple will answer your dog related questions and shoot to fame for being Ireland's first Dog Agony Aunt.

The Ray Darcy Show - 29th February 2008
Siobhan was a guest on the Today FM Ray Darcy Show this morning (Friday 29th February). Today FM asked to borrow Roman our Rottweiler pup for their competition called 'How much is that doggy in the window'. Roman joined Ray as he did the show Live from one of the Arnotts shop window's on Henry Street.

Puppy Information Pack - 30th January 2008
We have found that the majority of puppy owners ask the same questions over and over. Puppies bring great excitement to the home but they can also be very hard work. With this in mind we put together a information pack that is designed to cover the main issues that arise from owning and looking after a puppy. We hope to have the pack ready in early February so keep an eye on the website.

Banning of Restricted Breeds
Know your rights. Don't be bullied
These dogs are NOT banned under the law. NO ONE is entitled to enter your home & seize your dog. DON'T give up your dog. YOU CAN'T be evicted.
Contact the Citizens advice or a solicitor.
Know the law. If you are within the law:
# you have a dog licence
# your dog is muzzled and leashed when in public
# your dog has a collar and identity tag
# you are over 16 years old
# your dog doesn't cause a nuisance or attack people or other dogs
ALL DOGS SHOULD BE UNDER CONTROL AT ALL TIMES.

PRESS RELEASE 11th July, 2007
From 1st July 2007 and in the interest of good estate management, Dublin City Council has introduced a ban on the following dog breeds or crosses of these breeds with other dogs, within their housing estates and flat complexes:
American Pit Bull Terrier
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
English Pit Bull Terrier
Bull Mastiff
Doberman Pinscher
German Shepherd (Alsatian)
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Rottweiler
Japanese Akita
Japanese Tosa
The Council has a duty of care to all its tenants to ensure that they live in a safe environment. The ban on these breeds will be implemented through the Tenancy Agreement thereby including all existing tenants as well as all future tenants.
In the Dublin area since January 2007 there have been ten reported dog attacks on people, three of which were on children the youngest being three years of age. The dogs involved in these attacks were Bull Mastiff, Pit Bull Terriers, Japanese Akita, Rothweilers and German Shepherds. In the first six months of 2007 seventy-three banned dogs were surrendered by their owners and a further one hundred and sixty-nine were picked up as strays.

Dog licences/Dog Fouling
If you have a dog over four months old you must have a licence for him/her and the person to whom the licence is issued must be over 16 years of age. The dog licence fee is EUR 12.70 and is valid for one year from the date of issue of the licence. A dog licence may be purchased at any post office or from Dublin City Council, Customer Service Centre, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.
If you do not have a licence for your dog, you are liable to a EUR 30 "on-the-spot" fine. Failure to pay this fine can lead to a prosecution with a maximum fine of EUR 1,269.74 and/or up to 3 months imprisionment, if convicted.
Failure to clean up after your dog's waste can lead to a EUR 125 "on-the-spot" fine. Failure to pay this fine can lead to a prosecution with a maximum fine of EUR 3,000, if convicted.
Excessive barking which causes a nuisance to any person is an offence. Complaints in relation to excessive barking should be made to the District Court on the appropriate form. Tel. No. 01- 8886117 or 6118.
